About
GOLETA TEEN OF THE YEAR COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM
- The program is sponsored by Rotary Club of Goleta Noontime
- The program recognizes male and female Teens for their contributions to the Goleta community.
- Scholarship funds are awarded to the Goleta Teen of the Year and Finalists in the program, plus a donation is given to selected non-profit
- charities chosen by all Finalists.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be a junior or senior at Dos Pueblos, San Marcos, Bishop Diego High or Laguna Blanca High Schools with a minimum GPA of 2.75.
- They must live in the zip code areas of 93117, 93111, or 93110, and must contribute to community, school, youth group, church, service clubs, or other non-profit organizations.
- He or she must be willing to commit enthusiastically to serving as Goleta’s Teen of the Year.
Funds for scholarships are provided by Rotary Club of Goleta Noontime’s annual 4th of July Fireworks event at Girsh Park, and Rotary Club’s annual December 5K & 10K Fun Run. Funds are also provided by the Goleta Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, from raffle ticket sales, from proceeds earned at the Goleta Lemon Festival, and from booth sales at the 4th of July Fireworks event.
